Covid 19 has altered the landscape of after school sports and activities globally, nationally, and regionally. Millions of students who once engaged regularly in sports are still experiencing the effects of cancelled sport seasons. Athletes have lost the opportunity to form and strengthen friendships, hone skills, and receive the necessary physical activity time all students need to thrive.
In addition to regular P.E. classes students need time of movement after school. Try forming new family habits or routines that may encourage movement. You may want to take up family evening walks or bike rides. Maybe a little bit of family competition appeals to you and you can have a family challenge of most steps or miles ridden in a week. Whatever you choose know physical activity plays an important role in your overall well being.
We are continuing to monitor local and national guidance and statistics as to when athletics may return. Until then, STAY ACTIVE!
